Wuhan, one of the megacities of the People's Republic of China and one of the national central cities, is the capital of Hubei Province and a sub-provincial city. More and more foreigners and Chinese expatriates choose to live and work in Wuhan. How to apply for permanent residence in Wuhan?
Application conditions
Foreigners applying for permanent residence in China should abide by Chinese laws, be in good health, have no criminal record, and meet one of the following conditions:
Direct investment in China, stable investment for three consecutive years and a good tax record;
Holding positions of deputy general manager, deputy factory director or above in China, or having associate professor, associate researcher or above and enjoying the same treatment, having worked in China for at least four consecutive years, having resided in China for not less than three years within four years, and having a good tax record;
those that have made significant and outstanding contributions to China and are in special need of the State;
the spouse of the person referred to in subparagraphs 1, 2 and 3 of this paragraph and their unmarried children under the age of 18;
The spouse of a Chinese citizen or a foreigner who has obtained permanent residence status in China, whose marital relationship has lasted for at least five years, has resided in China continuously for at least five years, resided in China for not less than nine months per year, and has stable living security and residence;
Unmarried children under the age of 18 who go to their parents;
Those who have no immediate family members abroad and go to live with immediate family members in China, and have reached the age of 60, have resided in China continuously for at least five years, reside in China for not less than nine months per year, and have stable living security and residence.

Procedures and methods of handling
Apply for
When a foreigner applies for permanent residence in China, he or she or the parents of unmarried children under the age of 18 or the client shall apply to the public security organ of the people's government of the districted city where the main investment place or the long-term residence place is located, or to the public security branch or county bureau of the municipality directly under the Central Government. Where the client applies on his behalf, a power of attorney notarized by a notary organ issued by the applicant shall be submitted. The power of attorney issued by the applicant abroad shall be certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country.
Acceptance, examination and decision
The acceptance organ shall complete the investigation within 3 months from the date of acceptance, and shall report to the examination and approval organ that meets the conditions. The audit authority will complete the audit work within 2 months, and submit the qualified ones to the immigration Bureau for approval. For those who do not meet the conditions, the immigration Bureau will make a decision not to approve. Aliens who have been approved to reside permanently in China shall have their permanent residence identity cards issued by the Immigration Bureau. For the application for replacement and reissuance of certificates, the accepting organ will meet the conditions after completing the investigation to the examination and approval authority, and the examination and approval authority will report to the immigration Bureau for examination and approval after completing the examination and approval work.

Closing time limit
The public security organ shall, within 6 months from the date of accepting the foreigner's application for permanent residence in China, make a decision on approval or disapproval.
